16th International Convention on Culture & Tourism YPERIA

9th International Amorgos Tourism Film Festival 

Amorgos island – Cyclades, Greece  at  “Aegialis Hοtel & Spa “

October 31st  - November 5th  2018

The Amorgos YPERIA – International Convention on Culture and Tourism,  for the 16th Consecutive year, successfully completed its works on the beautiful island of Amorgos, Greece. 

It was dedicated to “GASTRONOMY – CULTURE & TOURISM”, a tribute to the South Aegean Region as the Gastronomy Region of Europe 2019. Representatives of Women's Associations of other Cycladic  islands of  South Aegean Region  presented their products . 

At the same time, the 9th International Amorgos Tourism Film Festival , took place, with participation of many filmmakers, producers journalists, photographers, bloggers, reporters and tour operators  from all over the world,  and 25 university students who attended  the Film Academy. 

There was a Special tribute on the subject “Youth &Employment, Women & Employment  which was implemented through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning" and is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek State. Its co-funded projects deal mostly with the improvement of education and employment in Greece. Its main targets relate to the development and promotion of human resources skills, activities against unemployment, strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion of vulnerable social groups, improvement of the quality of education & lifelong learning, awareness on environmental education, linking education with the labor market. The Festival and the film tribute had free admission and was accessible to disabled people. 

As every year, the Amorgos Festival, which is a member of the International Film Committee CIFFT, awarded the best 35 tourism films and documentaries, selected by an international jury team, from 200 films which entered the competition, among the 520 films which were submitted. 

The events were organized by the Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos and Aegialis Hotel & Spa, in cooperation with the Municipality of Amorgos and the South Aegean Region.
